Privacy policy.
This policy explains what f3insights.com collects, why, and who else sees it. It covers this website. It does not cover the client portal at portal.f3insights.com or engagement work under a signed agreement, both of which are governed by the terms of that agreement.
What We Collect
- What you send us
- The contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your company, a topic, and a message. You choose what to put in it. There is no account to create and nothing else is requested.
- What your browser reports
- Standard web request data reaches our host: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the referring page. This is ordinary server logging that any website receives, and we do not combine it with the contact form to identify individuals.
- How you move through the site
- Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, in what order, and which links and buttons are clicked. On the three campaign landing pages it also records which audience version was viewed and where visitors go next, so we can tell whether a page answers the question it was built for.
How We Use It
- To reply to you
- A contact form submission is emailed to us so a person can read it and respond. That is its only purpose. We do not add you to a mailing list from it.
- To understand what the site is doing
- Analytics tells us which pages are read and which are ignored, so we can improve them. We look at it in aggregate. We are not trying to identify you, and the reporting is not useful for that.
- To keep the form usable
- The form carries two anti-spam measures: a hidden field that people never see and automated submissions usually fill, and a check on how long the page was open before submission. Both are discarded immediately and neither is stored.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell or share your information
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
- We do not run advertising or remarketing
- There are no advertising tags on this site, no remarketing pixels, and no third-party advertising cookies. The only cookies set are the first-party Google Analytics ones described below.
- We do not store form submissions on this site
- The contact form does not write to a database. The message is passed straight to email and the request ends. It then lives in our mailbox, like any other email you might send us.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
- Google Analytics
- The site loads Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, which sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a property identifier. They distinguish one visit from another and expire after two years. They carry no name, email, or contact detail.
- Turning them off
- Every major browser can block or delete cookies, and most offer a setting that asks sites not to track you. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site at once. Blocking these cookies does not affect anything on this site: no feature depends on them.
- Why there is no cookie banner
- This site serves clients across Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, and North America. The consent banner requirement comes from European and United Kingdom law, which does not apply to this audience. If that changes, this policy and the site change with it.
Who Else Sees Your Information
- Microsoft
- The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, and contact form messages are sent through Microsoft Graph from our own mailbox. Microsoft processes this as our infrastructure provider.
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager process the usage data described above. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google and Google sees the request.
- Other services the site touches
- Icons load from the jsDelivr content network. Links to our blog resolve to a separate application hosted on Fly.io, which is covered by this policy while it remains ours. The client portal and the tool library are separate applications on their own subdomains.
- Nobody else
- We do not pass your information to data brokers, advertising networks, or partners. The list above is the complete set.
Your Choices
- Ask what we hold
- Email info@f3insights.com and we will tell you what we have from you, which in practice is any correspondence you have sent us.
- Ask us to delete it
- Email info@f3insights.com and we will delete your correspondence and any contact record, unless we are required to keep something for a legal or accounting reason. We will say so if that is the case.
- Opt out of analytics
- Use your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. No part of this site stops working.
How Long We Keep Things
- Correspondence
- Contact form messages stay in our email for as long as the conversation is useful, and are deleted on request. Enquiries that go nowhere are cleared periodically.
- Analytics
- Google Analytics data is retained on Google servers under the retention period configured for the property, after which Google deletes it. Aggregate reporting may persist beyond that.
- Server logs
- Request logs are retained by our hosting provider under its own schedule and are not used by us for anything beyond diagnosing faults.
Changes and Contact
- When this changes
- If we change what we collect or who processes it, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions; if the history matters to you, ask and we will tell you.
